 HomeWelcome to the new homepage of Luc Bongaerts. I have been present on the web since 1995, originally at K.U.Leuven. Since 2000, I have my own web page, which was moved to www.bongaerts.be in 2002 or 2003. The website was redesigned in 2004, 2007 and slightly in 2011. The latest version went live on 30 May 2011. This page focuses first of all on my professional life, as a mechanical engineer. I started in research on manufacturing execution systems, and moving into supply chain management via i2 Technologies, at that time the leading Supply Chain Company, where I started in customer support, later on moving into consulting and account management. Since March 2009, I am independent. That has given me the luxury to choose those companies whom I really want to represent, because of the consistently high customer satisfaction. For instance, in the area of supply chain planning solutions, I represent OM Partners, mainly in the metals industry. For people searching for advise on complex sales, industrial marketing and communication, I refer to Forte. I have also been active in several organizations, like the Flemish Engineering Association KVIV. On my private life, I have to be grateful for all good things that happened to me. I was born in a wonderful family, in one of the most fortunate countries in the world. I am married to a wonderful woman, and we have two lovely daughters. I never had any real troubles in life until 2005-2006, when I got a very serious and life-threathening illness. I only realized a lot of my blessings at that time: the excellent health care system in Belgium, as well as the many friends I have who turned out to be true friends indeed.
